The most useful date on the Mahtomedi calendar right now is not a festival. It is the mid-August reopen at Pine Tree Apple Orchard, which sits just up Apple Orchard Road from the north end of town.
Strawberry season runs mid-June to early July, and apple season runs mid-August through February at Pine Tree, and the orchard has been closed since late June to let the crop come in. What is left on the outdoor calendar before it closes
Mahtomedi Community Education's summer programming is the backbone of local weeknights from June through late August. According to the district's own summer announcement, the summer 2026 lineup includes Food Truck Friday and Concerts in the Park, along with pottery workshops, Pet Extravaganza, and Bike Rodeo.

- Tickets are $5 per person, and kids 2 and under get in free.
- Activities include face painting, an obstacle course, and a corn maze, with food from Brick Oven Pizza Bus and El Pariente Mexican Grill.
- Location is Pine Tree Apple Orchard, which by that point has been open for apples for roughly a week.
That last point is the underappreciated part. The Zephyr Get Together lands in the window where the orchard is stocked and operating but the September pumpkin and corn-maze crowds have not yet built.
